Blu-ray has its fair share of groupies. Just this week, Home Media Magazine reports that Blu-ray sales have increased by 35% in the third quarter of 2011. According to the same report, the strongest sales will be in Europe which is expected to boom by 42% or 63 million units, compared to 44 million units sold in 2010 that was dominated by Germany. But the U.S. will still be where the majority of Blu-ray discs are sold, where analysts say these disc sales will reach about 115 million units this year alone. Compare that to 85 million units sold in 2010, which was dominated by Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Overall, experts say Blu-ray discs sales will increase to 234 million units or 45% from 161 million units in 2010.
